Broad Function

The role of the Maintenance Planner is ensure all utilities, facilities and manufacturing equipment run in a safe, compliant and reliable manner by anticipating and eliminating potential losses through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.

The Maintenace Planner will be the SME for the sites CMMS and will play a key role in the transition from a manual system to a CMMS

Principle Responsibilities

1.To lead the planning & schedule of site wide maintenance and repair activities.

2.Schedule preparation and resource forecasting for Engineering and other technical activities.

3.Plan and coordinate all engineering maintenance, calibration, condition monitoring and servicing activities and ensure department meets KPIs

4.Update PPM system as required by approved equipment record forms and create equipment files for all items of GMP critical equipment.

5.Review completed work order and service reports for GMP compliance, and providing data to support action plans for recurring issues that are evident through the downtime analysis data.

6.Support the Engineering team with organisation of GxP documentation.

7.To assist in the development and control of the PPM system.

8.To administer and control engineering stores operations, ensure stock and levels remain up to date. Reorder stock as and when necessary and ensure the completion of stock checks during the financial year. Develop and implement best practice principle for stock control.

9.Schedule suppliers of services and products for manufacturing and utilities equipment in line with contractual agreements. 

10.Ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with BTG values.

11.Carry out other reasonable tasks as required.

Principal Relationships1.Internal:Engineering team, Production Planning, Manufacturing technical Support, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing.2.External:Equipment vendors and approved contractors.Education and Experience

·Knowledge of Quality requirements for an engineering department servicing a GMP compliant production facility.

·Good knowledge of computer maintenance management systems

·Good understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation.

Skills and Attributes

·Able to work under pressure, meet critical deadlines and co-ordinate several activities concurrently.

·Computer literate with the ability to demonstrate a level of understanding of commonly used office, scientific and engineering software.

·Excellent communicator at all levels.

·Self motivated
